I am a brand new member of this forum and am in some desperate need of advice. I recently purchased all three of my credit reports and my scores to see where I stand. what I found is MORE than disturbing. My credit scores are in the low 500's and I am currently in a situation where I'm going to have to sell my current home and buy a new one to appease a residential custody battle.. I know finding a lender at this time would be completely out of the question, not to mention the interest rate that I would have to accept. One barrier I am facing on improving my score is a reposession from 2005 as a result of a divorce. I also have medical bills and credit card bills from that time.
Bottom line is I have NO idea where to start!!! I'm in a panic and feel so helpless/hopeless. Does anyone have any advice???????
For the medical bills, read the link in my signature titled "medical collections".
For your other debts, I would suggest reading the link "Where do I Start?".
You need to know DOFD, DOLA, and SOL for each account.
If you haven't already, I would get all three free annual reports that come directly from the CRA. These contain much more information.
