Is there a way to get EQ to verify an account without disputing?

I've been impatiently waiting for WFFNB to update the balance on one of my cards that I paid 2K down on so that I can go to my bank and apply for a loan (I'm on a major time crunch). I called WFFNB several times asking them when they report and get different answers each time. I called EQ and they say they say they have no way of knowing but can "send them an alert to update my account". The more the guy at EQ explained doing this, it sounded like what you would do when initiating a dispute so I asked him if that's what I would be doing and he never did give me a straight answer. I kindly declined for fear of this account being marked as disputed and don't need that to hurt my chances when it comes time to go to the bank.

I've only received 2 statements since I've had this card (opened in December) and they report towards the end of the month. WFNNB shows the balance was paid down as of 02/21/12 so I assumed I would have received a SW notification or some sort of update by now? I pulled my EQ Fico report and still nothing.

Edited to clarify: For clarification, one of the CSR's at WFFNB told me they would be reporting by the 22nd of the month so that's why I paid it down on the 21st, when it also posted.

CCs typically update the balance you had on the statement date and will report that balance inside a few days from that statement date.

You might benefit from a CMS subscription like USAA or EIDT. You can pull daily and get a general idea of the reporting. As you see updates, and if scoring is important, then you can selectively target your FICO pulls to see the result. When I first started here, I was pulling blindly and realized I was pulling the same report over and over wasting $$$.

Thank you, I may have to look into one of those services so I can pull daily from there and then pull MyFico to see the changes/score update.  About how much does USAA charge for that, and do you have to be a member?

$12 or so. No, you don't have to be a member. It will prompt you to create a username and password by which to access the USAA site, but service isn't a requirement. I signed DW up a couple weeks ago and had no issues at all.

I'm thinking about signing up for the USAA monitoring today so I can be notified as soon as those lower balances are finally reported! Is it pretty immediate that it shows up on USAA once it's reported to the CB's? I have been having major issues with my SW and I know there is some lag time before you're notified as well, and I can't afford to keep paying outright for my reports (bought EQ and TU this week) so I'm going to give the USAA a try!

USAA won't alert you to any balance decreases or increases. However, you will notice the change when you pull a new report if you are keeping track of your balances. IME, all CMSs like SW or USAA provide the exact same data you see when you pull a new report compared to pulling from the CRAs directly.

I use CreditKarma.com to see updates to my credit cards and it's free.
