Joint account issues for utilities.

I recent just paid off a bill with APS from Phoenix, AZ that I did not know I had. I looked at all three CRs and it showed up as 120 past due. They would not except a PFD letter but I was received a letter stating that the utility bill was paid in full. This account was a joint account from our condo we had back in the 2008 crash. The intersesting part is that now 3-4 weeks later the account which was 6 years old was removed from my wife's reports but it showed up as paid in full on my own reports. How can i remove it from all 3 CR's after already being paid. Does their letter of paid in full help at all?

I could be wrong, but I don't think the letter would be helpful if it doesn't state they will remove since the account has already been updated to show it was paid & closed. When exactly is the DoFD?

The reported derog is a 120-late, and thus its credit report exclusion is not based on DOFD.

DOFD only applies to collections and charge-offs.

Monthly delinquencies must be excluded no later than 7 years from the month/year of their occurence.

The CRAs can exclude a bit early, and usually do in order to assure that they dont exceed the statutory limit of 7years.

They apparently processed her credit report exclusion a bit early.  Yours will also occur, and could extend up to the full 7 years.

No cause for complaint until it reaches the full 7 years.
