Hi all,
So I had a court case back in 2010 that resulting in both the other party and I sueing eachother because of a service I provided. I thought I had rendered it properly and in a timley fashion, the other party thought I did not. We had a small claims court case and other party ended up winning ($650). Upon losing, I paid the judgement, and we went on our seperate ways.
The worst part about losing the judgement is I have this record on my credit report. This seems like a simple open and close situation and I don't understand why it's required to be reported on my credit report.
Does anyone have any suggestions to how this can be removed? Do I need to file a motion to set aside judgement? If so, under what basis?
Thank you,
Starting Scores (10/18/2013): EX: 603 | EQ: 572 | TU: 659It depends on the state you live in...go to your state court website and see if its eligble or not. In VA, you can file a motion to vacate or set aside a default judgement.

If the judgement is paid in full, you can call the clerks office at the court house and see if they allow jugements to be vacated and if the Judge will vacate the judgment. You will need to file a motion.
