LVNV (Resurgent) will delete upon payment/settlement. There is very likely a one time lump sum settlement offer at around 50%. I just paid and it was gone from all reports within a week.
Thanks for all the help so far! You guys are amazing.
I have paid off the collection from Portfolio Recovery, should be deleted soon.
I called Midland and LVNV. Both accounts are over 2 years old but they are BARELY budging on the amount. Both are offering 10 or 15 percent off, which I have declined so far. Still working on them and will keep calling.
CreditKarma as of today has me at 688 TU and 698 Equifax. Been a while since I have seen numbers like that!
I have settled on an actual goal: a travel rewards card to pay for our honeymoon next year. I have done the preapproval page on Amex, as I have never had them before, and it shows preapprove for 4 different cards:
Delta SkyMiles Reserve
Delta SkyMiles Platinum
Delta SkyMiles Gold
Delta SkyMiles Blue
I mean, I would definitely love one of those cards but it surely seems too good to be true. Should I move forward with one of them and risk the HP? I guess I am asking if AMEX preapprovals usually turns into approved cards?
@mrjhsm LVNV did that to me and I told them it wasn't good enough so they put me in touch with the outsourced agency they had handling the debt.
To note, my Credit Report said LVNV and when I called Resurgent they gave me no impression anyone else was involved until I told them that simply wasn't good enough and I would try again at a later date.
That's when they referred me to Dynamic (longer name, but the first part was Dynamic) who gave me a better settlement offer and I paid and was removed within 3 weeks from the CRAs.
I ended up around 65% with the offer I took, but I've heard of people getting 50% or better.

Interesting. I did call Resurgent, that's who I went through, but they didn't give me any other options. I'll call again, thanks!
Decided to pull the trigger on an Amex app, and was approved! $1000 CL on Amex Gold Skymiles card.
Then figured, why not, and was approved for the Cap1 Venture One card for $5000! Now, it's points churning and gardening time.
