Just getting started

So I have lurked the boards for a while, and today I got serious joined and pulled my  credit report.  I have several items listes as Paid in Full, was in Collection balance zero.  I have read alot about sending GW, is that the best way to start on paid medical bills, I paid the CA.  How long do you wait for a reply or update, and how often do you send letters?  Any other advise for just starting out?  2013 is my year to get my credit cleared up.

I'd send GWs to the CAs. I'd give them 30-45 days before trying again. During that time frequently check your CRs for updates. Most of the time the OC or CA won't even notify you of any changes; they'll just change it. Also don't rule out snail mail, e-mail, faxing, or calling in your GW requests. Also try contacting the OC to see if they'd pull it back from the CA.

Thanks!  That's what I will do.  Trying to take it one step at a time, and not get overwhelmed!  Fingers crossed the letters work!
