Re: Lesson I have Learned reading the FICO Forums as A newcomer to rebuilding my Credit Scores

When I decided to start my rebuild, my scores were in the 580's as well. I had 3 things in collections, one credit card which is secured and I've had a super high utilization the whole time I've had it, plus a car loan, and that was it. I was magically pre-approved for Capital One Platinum (SL $300) and I've been working on my credit ever since. I've since opened a PayPal MC, Amazon store card, and $1,000 with CareCredit (trying to work my way up for a boob job). All are through Syncrony and they reported all accounts wtihin a couple of days. Definitely helped my utilization and I'm in the garden for now.

Like you, I NEVER in a million years thought my scores could ever be out of the 500's. I don't know why, but I felt so defeated when it came to my credit and thought it was hopeless. This forum helped spark some hope and I couldn't have done it without this place. Congrats on your rebuild and I can't wait till I hit that 700 mark!! Heart

I think I've found the sacred map that may lead me to this garden everyone keeps talking about.

They can't keep that 54 cents, it's not theirs. Stick it to them and demand that money back. It'll cost them more to send it to you. Lol.

I remember when I worked at Chase, this guy paid off his car, but overpaid by 1 cent. He called everyday, multiple times a day, tying people up for 45 mins at a time over that penny. The system wouldnt allow us to refund it to him and that was unacceptable because we were stealing his money. In the end, we typed up a refund letter, taped a penny to it, and sent it to him. He called everyday until he got it and we never heard from him again.

I love that you're honest about your credit goals and that you're working towards a boob job. Haha

Haha! Well, I'm also working on my credit because we want to buy a house next year. So a house & a boob job are my main priorities right now. Cat Wink Definitely the house first, but I WILL be getting that boob job within the next year. In the meantime, I'm going to use the CareCredit for a little Botox here and there so I can show them that I can use it responsibly and hopefully get a CLI in 3 months. I'm only 30, but Botox has done wonders for me and my self esteem. You wouldn't even know I had anything done by looking at me, and that's the best way to do it. No way I want to look like a Housewife of Orange County.

I think I've found the sacred map that may lead me to this garden everyone keeps talking about.
