Im curious if anyone has any actual sucess stories from using them? I signed up with them a few months ago and have already received a few removals. But it seems like the things that were removed were just the same tradeline but on each of the 3 CBs and then 1 other judgement that showed up on 1 of them (not even sure what this was, so it might have actually been not legit)...
but mainly what I need is late payments and 2 charge offs removed. Those are the things that havent been fixed yet. I pay these guys something like $100/mo and if it works, I dont mind paying. But if I will never get lates and these 2 charge offs removed (Discover and Rent Debt) then, I feel like theres no point in sticking with them.
After I posted this, I did a search (backwards huh) and apparently alot of people have had "some" success as I have already. But alot of people are also saying they dont do anything special. Going into this, I knew they weren't magic. But I just thought they already had pre formed GW letters and knew the laws that I do not know as far as possibly getting things removed. I mean, I can go to a CRB and dispute something, but its going to the creditors that I know nothing about. Plus, I have a pretty busy work and personal life, so Im afraid I wouldnt always be on top of everything.
That being said, here is what I have bad on my CR right now. Does any of this seem like an easy fix I could do myself?
Capital One Auto - late payments (no longer have account) - account was opened in 2008
CITI Shell - late payments (no longer have account) - account was opened in 1998
GMAC Mortgage (no longer have account) - account was opened in 2003
Wells Fargo Dealer - late payments (my current auto loan) - opened in 2011
Midland Mortgage - late payments (my current mortgage) - opened in 2003
Discover - charge off - opened in 2000
Rent Debt - collection - opened in Feb 2012
btw, the Discover is $5000+ and the Rent Debt is $3000+. I believe both would do a settlement for around half those amounts, but I do not really have that money, so a PFD isnt really an option at this time for me. Most of this bad debt was from my last year or so of marriage and then divorce. Im now trying my darndest to repair my credit and do things right, but I just dont have the money to pay those off.
your reply is esentially what I have read.
I guess my question really is... if i were to dump them and attempt this on my own. What would I need to do? What would be my chances of getting late payments removed from these creditors both old and current? what about the charge off and collection?

My take on them, based on other posts, is that they can get the low-hanging fruit; i.e. things that you can do on your own easily. The hard stuff which takes tenacity like goodwill letters to remove lates they might not be able to help.
As far as the charge-off's, if they are unpaid you might consider a PFD. If they are still within SOL, be careful about poking them, as they could turn around and sue.
Okay, so if i were to send some goodwill letters and try and have lates removed on my own, what is my best plan of attack without having to spend hours and hours of reading and research? elaborate on that "tenacity". what can I do if im serious about having them removed?

So, a goodwill letter is basically a plea for mercy... I know I was late, but please Mr. CEO have mercy on me and erase that black mark from my credit file. You should do this cuz I'm such a great customer now, or my dog was sick, or I need a mortgage, or whatever. Simple honesty and persistence are the key.
Unfortunately, the first answer is almost always "we don't do that." And the second, and the third, and so on.
If you search "goodwill success ______" for the creditor you want to do it, you'll see what others have done. There are form letters on the rebuilding section sticky, and it really requires repetition and persistence. It helps if you are a current customer in good standing, but is not always required.
Good luck.
If you are seeking "how to" tips on disputing valid information on credit reports, I'm afraid that you will be disappointed. Disputing valid credit report info is a nono in this forum. I'm just sayin...

It does no good to dispute valid items anyway. Better to get the root cause taken care of, ensuring it will never return than to waste all of your energy convincing the CRA you're a frivolous disputer.
