Looking for charge off help.
I have a an account which was charged off almost 7 years ago. (This November will be my 7th year from the first time it was delinquent). What advise would you give?M&Tbank won't budge. When should I notify the three agencies? Early later or wait until November? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Looking for charge off help.
Greetings Rudy1927 ~ You can contact each CRA (Credit Reporting Agency) and nicely ask for an Early Exclusion (EE). I have done this many times with each CRA. TransUnion (TU) will purge 6 months prior to the deletion date; Equifax (EQ) will purge only 1 month and Experian (EX) will purge 3 months prior to scheduled deletion. Remember, it's a courtsey as they aren't obligated to do so. Wishing you success in removing the charge-off.
Current FICO 8 Score in 06/2021: EQ-796, TU-806, EX-812
Goal FICO 8 Score in 06/2022: EQ-825, TU-850, EX-850

Re: Looking for charge off help.
What is the best way to contact them? An email? Letter? Or phone call? Which way do you feel works the best?

Re: Looking for charge off help.
Rudy1927 ~ Here's the CRA's numbers. If the 1st step numbers don't work, I will message you the escalation team's number for Experian and TransUnion. Equifax has been the most difficult to deal with for me.
- Equifax. Equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services. 800-685-1111.
- Experian. Experian.com/help. 888-EXPERIAN (888-397-3742)
- TransUnion. TransUnion.com/credit-help. 888-909-8872.
Current FICO 8 Score in 06/2021: EQ-796, TU-806, EX-812
Goal FICO 8 Score in 06/2022: EQ-825, TU-850, EX-850

Re: Looking for charge off help.
Phone but..
EQ will not budge, and if they do, it's usually a disaster.
EX treats EE as a dispute, you have equal chance that it will work out or fail.
TU, just call, ask for supervisor, should be relatively painless.
I would strongly urge you not to mess with the other two since it can go very wrong. It may not be worth it over couple of months. You're almost there as is!
