lets make one thread with all MCM issues in one. i have seen about 4 threads started in the past 30 min because of a reporting issues midland is have with what seems to be only EQ reports.
Pulled my EQ today and midland opened another account for the same collection. but marked it with a new balance and payment info and now both are showing open unpaid also incldued a new date of major first DQ of 2/2012.
i just hope me disputing all my reports will help me since they were in dispute. i may have to send letters again and have them dispute again
They are only entitled to report one collection activity on the same debt. I would file a direct dispute with them for duplicate reporting of the same collection activity.
Date of major first delinquency is immaterial. It is the date of first delinquency that matters.
If it is inaccurate, you can, of course, dispute, but it has no significance to the credit report exclusion date.
i am disputing both i cant beialve that they did that.. just checked again one says midland management the other says midland funding. same acct#
We've had a couple of people these past few days with the same problem. I'm one of them. They are suddenly reporting twice. Obviously, they had some sort of error when reporting this month because the same thing has happened to so many people. Somebody else had their date changed to 2/2012. Somebody disputed online and have already had the item removed so I think the CRA already knows about the problem. Could be wrong though.
yea same here it says 2/12 but still filed a complaint with FTC BBB and tomorrow will be AG
BUMP
its crazy but if it reports as paid closed as too disputed score will go up or down?
Today I got an alert for an account been added to my credit file. Well let me inform you a little on what happen. I had received a dunning letter about 1 month ago from the company named Midland Credit Management Inc. After them submitting me the dunning notice, I sent them a DV letter which last week I had gotten a response. They did responded but not really what I had asked to show me proof of contract or something that attach me to the T-Mobile account. What in fact they sent, was a print-out of the account information, old address but missing apt number, my name and SS#, but nothing to do with me signing any contract or anything like that. NOTE: At the time of the dunning notice, they were not reporting to my credit file and today they are on my credit file.
My credit now has decrease 5 points and now I am in need of help on how can I attack this company. I do have funds to pay but won't until they agree to delete.
What should I do in this case?

That sounds like a good idea but it will never work because too many people log on and don't read any threads already started and begin yet another one that says/asks the same exact thing as 25 other threads on the same board.
That's just one of the foibles of an online forum I'm afraid.
