Just wanted to share some progress I made last month...
Paid Comcast directly for old balance and received response from Enhanced Recovery (after DV request) that they are removing from CRA
Disputed old utility collection placed with Online Collections and received letter stating that they were removing item from CRA
Emailed Credit One to GW a very old C/O - received email from assistant that they are drafting a response letter (?)
Established payment plan with PRA - would not budge on PFD, but at least an open collection will close soon
Disputed old utility collection with LVNV Funding - awaiting response
GW attempts failed with GM Financial and Georgia Student Finance (GSFC)
Emailed CEO of Capital One twice to GW old C/O - no response
Still need to draft a PFD for 2012 debt placed with NCC (advice or contact info welcomed!)
Brand new Capital One unsecured credit card reported to CRA
and my quest continues... thanks to all on this board for the advice

Brand new Capital One unsecured credit card reported to CRA You'll want to open at least two more CC accounts. App for a second Cap One card, and see if you can get another account from a different lender. Avoid predatory lenders like Credit One, First Premier, Open Sky, etc. Go secured if need be, its just as good.

We added my name as an authorized user to my wife's Captial One card - will that count/report as a second card for me?
+1
try the pre-quals on the sites to avoid wasting a HP.
great job! patience and persistence
No. You want your own accounts for scoring purposes. AU accounts tend to 'muddy the water' in the eyes of many lenders.
Gotcha, thanks!
Some great progress there OP, keep up the good work
