May be an elementary question...

I realize this may be an elementary question, but....

Which report can I get that will show when an item will drop off my report?

I got my free reports from annualcreditreport.com (all except for TU since they say I have logged in too many times, but I digress...) today and I don't see the date my negatives will be reported until.

I have been reading (and reading!!) here and I see a lot of scenarios that say "reported until ...".

I am hoping the majority of my baddies will drop off this year, but I just want to be sure.

I also am wondering if you have any opinions of Credit Check Total. I am considering signing up for the trial to see how I like it and then continuing if I find it to be a good service. I am looking for a service that allows daily pulls and score updates.

Thanks to everyone for their input!

Re: May be an elementary question...

The best way is to simply calculate each date yourself.  You have all the data.

Each monthly delinquency has its own, separate drop off date.  Take the month of its delinqueny, add 7 years to it, and it drops the month after that.

For each charge off or collection reported, once again, go back to the OC account records.  Find the last chain of delininquencies that preceded the CO or CA, and then find the first delinquency in that chain (usually the 30-day late).  That is your DOFD.  Add 7 1/2 years to that date.  The CO or CA will then drop the next month following that date.  Date of the CA or CA does not affext this date.

I WISH I were that organized!

I have the data in my CR, but don't know if the OC is reporting correctly. I have successfully had entries deleted because of re-aging.

Thanks for the info!

Re: May be an elementary question...

Actual dates of delinquency cannot be reaged.  They are what they are.  Creditors can report information to a CRA that might "update" certain fields in your CR, such as DOLA,, or illegally update other dates, such as DOFD.  That is why I would always rely on your own account records and not the projected drop off dates included in a CR.  They can be wrong.

All you need is to simply lay out all dates of delinquency on the OC account.  Disregrd anything reported by the CA.  If you dont have original OC account records, then use the date of reporting of delinquencies that appear in the history profile in you current CR.  Delinquencies dropped wont show in your CR.
