Medical Collections: How should I proceed?

Thanks everyone for this wonderful site...  I need your advice.  I contacted the hospital in regards to my part due debts. The two showing on my credit report I am aware of beforehand.  However, I was informed of a THIRD collection from 06/08.  My question is, how to work this?  PFD the first two and let the last one age off? Especially since it isn't currently reporting on my CB?

Also, I paid down my ccredit cards to 2% utilization.

So currently my profile is as:

EQ FICO (604) 12/14. EX FICO (610)  TU FICO (614)

Cap One.                   $750.            0

BoA secured.             $500.          $40

Credit One.                $550.            0

Cap One. QS1           $500.            0

Comenity/Express.     $500.             0

Collections

Everest Receivables.                    $378

Everest Receivables.                    $178.  both from 07/12

On the CB it shows Quality Asset Recovery?

Thank

If you cant get the hospital to recall the CAs and pay them directly then Google search the HIPAA Process, you can contact its creator for assistance.

Re: Medical Collections: How should I proceed?

I am aware of the HIPAA process and Why Chats letters( I've done the Google search).  What I am asking, is what would you do with the third collection account?  I live in NJ and the SOL is 6 years, so it's past that time.  Also, looking back at my past  CK alerts, it shows the CA entry removed from my CB.  None of the bureaus are reporting the collection?

Re: Medical Collections: How should I proceed?

Is the third collection a legitimate debt?

If so, and past SOL, you have no legal obligation to pay, but it still exists as an unpaid delinquent debt.

While it wont become discoverable by others via a normal pull of your credit report if it is also past its credit report exclusion period, you may still have an obligation to disclose if asked in a future application.

Your call as to whether to pay a time-barred debt, and thus remove any future disclosure of the debt.
