I have a collection that is from the year 2000. It is unpaid. Financial Recoveries is the CA. I have the invoice from the hospital. I am working with them to pay it off. However I am trying tio get it removed from my report as it is over 7.5 years old. I sent a letter to the CRA it is reporting to (TransUniton) I also sent them a copy of the bill showing them the date. I just got a letter from them telling me that my dispute is frivolous and they will not re-investigate my the item.
Now what??
Have you disputed the item in the past?
I did do a DV to the CA in August and got nothing in return.
Sorry I just re-read your message. Yes I did dispute with the CRA just before I found the board, and everyone says not too.
You need to get a copy of your CR directly from the CRA and see what they have as the drop off date. If it has already passed, then yes, dispute as too old to report.
My experian report says that it will be on record till 9/2010. They (CA) got the account (date opened) 2/2004. If you take off 7 years from 2010 you get 2003.
What gives? I am so confused about how this stuff works!
