Midland Paid Collections

Does anyone know of a set protocol hat has workled to remove a Paid Midland Collection Account? I've searched the forums and it seems that removals of Midland are not common. If anyone has the steps they've taken to succesfully remove Midland and would like to share that would be awesome. I've called and sent good will letters with no luck.

Thank You!!

Re: Midland Paid Collections

The only way to get the TL deleted is by a goodwill deletion on their part. I would continue a GW letter campaign at a rate of at least one every other month to the office of the CEO. It may take years but I would not give up till you either get the deletion or it is exluded by reaching max CRTP. Good luck Smiley Happy

Only if the debt was paid to the original creditor after the OC first terminated their assignment of collection authority to the debt collector.

In such cases, deletion is not required under the FCRA, but is a credit reporting instruction in the CRA reporting manual.

Re: Midland Paid Collections

I've sent two goodwills about a month apart. In the mail today was a duplicate letter from them stating they do not delete but would report the account as in dispute. I'm guessing I have to contact them since I've read here that I won't be able to qualify for a mortgage if there are items on my report listed as disputed. I didn't dispute the entry. I paid the account in full. Reporting the item as disputed would be inaccurate. Would that help my cause?

Re: Midland Paid Collections

I've tried writing them every month for about 14 months now & every month I get the "we do not delete accurate information" letter back.  Last month they upped the ante & said "as we've told you numerous times..."

So, I sent them 2 letters this month.  haha

You just have to get the dispute comments removed to be able to get a true Fico for mortgage pull, you can actually just call the CRAs and tell them you are not disputing anything and to remove them.

Wow....I laughed then kind of got depressed. 14 months? I guess I'll do the same and hope that something gives. Not very hopeful but stamps are cheap so might as well give it a try.

Thanks for the responses.
