NFCU - Utilization question

I know that NFCU looks at more than FICO score when deciding on approvals. Has anyone been approved with high utilization? My utilization is around 53%. My scores took a big hit as a result. EX 638 TU 644 EQ 643. (I know the most logical thing would be to pay down debt first). I just really don't have the extra cash right now, and was hoping to get a CC with a decent limit to help with utilization. So again, anyone approved for a card even though you have high utilization? Thank you in advance for your replies.

Re: NFCU - Utilization question

Like you said best thing to do is pay down your cc debt. While rebuilding imo is not a good idea to get new accounts simply to lower UTI. While rebuilding it's a good habit to just concentrate on lowering debt and not getting access to more debt. handle that first and see where you at I guarantee by lowering debt without adding more accounts is the way to go.

I totally understand this, and do thank you for your reply, but unfortunately, this does not answer my original question.

Re: NFCU - Utilization question

There's a thread on here where someone asked which nfcu card to apply for. It had several data points from posters. From what I remember the ones with moderate uti had lower SLs. If I find it I'll post the link

+1.....The OP asked a direct question about NFCU approvals with high utilization, not a lesson in rebuilding.

Re: NFCU - Utilization question

I was somewhere in the 60% total util range when I was approved with NFCU. One card had 87% on its' own. Good luck!

Gardening as of: 23 JUL 2017 / FICO 8 (As of 14 Jul 2017): EQ: 663, TU: 723, EX: 680

Re: NFCU - Utilization question

NFCU is a little odd and it looks like their internal scoring model is different than anything you'd find on any website. I believe if your income is good that uti should be fine.
