Hey all,
I was an "authorized user" on a family members card almost 7 years ago. They let the card max out ond go into collections. I have contacted Navy Fed, and I actually have my own account with them now, and they sent me a letter saying I was never liable for the account and it should be removed. It is only left on Equifax. I have sent the dispute online almost 8 times with the letter attached to it. I tried snail mail and electronic dispute. The stupid thing still remains on my report. Suggestions?
I would call them and explain over the phone. I had a situation like this. Once I called and explained, it was gone within 2 days, they didn't even ask me for the supporting paperwork.
I may have to do this. I think Equifax blocked me from disputing anymore through the online site. I need to call Equifax or Navy Federal?

Equifax
Thank you. I will try to call them. It is the only negative notator I have on my file now since it all go cleaned up. EQ is almost 50 points lower than the other 2. I don't see many differences in tradelines minus that.
I called, and all they did was open another dispute via the telephone.

this SHOULD be all you had to do in the first place. an Authorized User account usually can be disputed off as "not my account" with a minumum of effort
I have tried this many times. I have even included the paper from Navy Fed in snail mail and online dispute that says I was not responsible for this account and it should have been removed in 2014. So it was supposed to be removed over 3 years ago and still shows today. Equifax is the worst to deal with. The others removed it immediately.
Equifax and their games. If they dont remove it this time file a CFPB complaint on them that usually gets it zapped quickly. http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

I'd go ahead and do this right now, as there is a possibly of the CFPB being de-funded due to the current 'political climate'
