Need Advice on when to app for CC and First Progress PFD Update

I did two rounds of PFD letters to first progress for a debt of $142. The first letter I got a response saying no but citing the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I responded to that letter and requested PFD again. I got a letter yesterday asking me to call the customer service line to resolve the issue. After talking to two different supervisors they said that I will have a better chance asking for a goodwill deletion after I pay the amount. Sick of the back and forth I gave in and paid the full amount. So now I've got to try the goodwill path.  They said they will report to the reporting agencys the account paid in full on Feb 28th. 

I was hoping to apply this weekend for 2 prime credit cards when I have AZEO and less than 8% utalization.  I also feel like I'm racing against the clock because I paid off my car loan in December and it hasn't updated yet. So I'm still getting the boast from an open installment loan with a low utilization. Do yall think I should wait to apply until this past due closed First Progress acount shows paid?

You always want to show your best to creditors when apping so IMO yes let the FP show paid.

I’m in the same situation. I asked FP for a PFD and they wouldn’t accept payment and had to go thru CA. I PIF to CA and it reported $0 bal. within a weeks time. I guess, because I did it toward the end of the month.
I am going to start my GW campaign as directed by First Progress CSR. He stated that once paid for me to write them requesting GW deletion since it’s now PIF.
They may give us a break?? You never know!
If I have some success with the GW letters, I’ll be sure to share whatever info I receive!!

Using BrutalBodyShots Saturation Technique, I think it’ll work. I may take time...months even years but, I won’t give up! It’ll be my very first EVER trying this approach so, maybe beginners luck will be on our side?
