I have a judgement on my CR's that has been satisfied but remains on reports. Disputed but it remains after investigation. What would be my next step?
Plus a tax lien that was paid but still remains after Investigation?
Thanks for the help!
It is a State tax lien from 2014 for $344 dollars..
If the judgment was paid/satisfied, the creditor should have filed a "satisfaction of judgement or lien" with the county clerk or clerk with whom the original judgment was filed.
If they haven't go back to them and have them do so. Many (most) jurisdictions require creditor to provide a satisfaction when the debt is satisfied.
If you paid them less than the full amount of the judgment, hopefully you got that agreement in writing. Especially the part that says I will pay you X and that amount will be accepted as payment in full satisfaction of the judgment in the amount of X, recorded with X Clerks office on the date of X, or I will pay you X and you will agree to provide a fully executed Satisfaction of Judgment. in a form sufficient for recording.
Thanks for the info will check on this
