Need Professional Help

I have many blemishes on my report and don't know where to start.  Is there any companies that I could go to that will look at my report and tell me exactly what to do to repair all credit?  I have been reading the posts here almost everyday and to be honest I have a little bit of everything. I am so flustered with everything I don't know where to begin.  At this rate I will never buy a home!!...Please help I live in Chicago, Il so if anyone out there knows of such a company please provide it.

What if try and get pre-approved for a house...Then wouldn't a morgtage broker take me down the right road?

You can do all of this on your own.  a mortgage broker is not going to always know the best thing to do.  the people here have been focusing on this like crazy for years.  so its best to do this yourself, with the help of the people here.  you will save tons of money, and you will better understand your credit after that.

What you need to do to start is go to annualcreditreport.com and pull your reports.  Or buy them from here along with your scores.  Then post you bad accounts and what you need to get fixed or removed.  Then people will explain the best course of action on each item and how to try and get them fixed.

Hiring a company to do this will likely take the same amount of leg work on your part, cost the same to deal with each account, plus the extra fee for them to tell you how to do it.

Be careful of the mortgage guy, that knows a guy that can fix your credit report.

The only thing that they have in their eyes is your $$, and you will be left with is a

credit report worst then what you started with and a few hundred dollars less.

Don't beat up on yourself, before you start. Just start and see how far you can get.

There is nothing the credit repairing company can do, that you can't.

YOU are the only person that has your best interest in mind.

Start with annualcreditreport.com....Done get the credit scores for now those are not FICO's

come back here and post your negative items, and ask for help. There is some very, very smart people here. 

Also if you want a mortgage you will need to understand this information anyway. Trust me you don't want to get 

taken over a home loan, and wind up losing your home....over not understanding the loan that you signed.

I agree with all of the prior posts.

You CAN do it yourself.  It just requires a time commitment. I would never personally recommend any specific credit repair company or agency.

No one on here is attempting to take one single $ from your pocket.  And I would stack the knowledge and objectiveness on this site against any "professional" credit repair service. 

All commercial credit repair services are digging in your wallet.

Dont worry about your scores right now.

As has been said, first go to annnualcreditreport.com, which is a totally free site establshed under the FCRA to provide you one free credit report from each CRA once a year.

Start with what we call "major derogs."  Those are monthly delinquencies on an account with an orgiinal creditor that reached at least 60-days past due., any charge off on a credit card, any collection posted to your credit report, and any public record.

Give us the dates that each occured.  Start there.  Those are the things hurting most. I suggest you first just post to us your collection accounts.

They are major ticket, and may be on the verge of legal action on their part.
