Need Some Encouragement!

Before finding the Holy Grail in these forums, I did what I thought was the right thing by paying off all of my debts that were in collections, IN FULL, without settling.  Since then I have been in the business GW letters.  I have had a really tough week and a half of GW letters getting denied because "they have to report accurate info."  I'm a short gal up against what seems like a very tall an unbreakable brick wall.  4/5 of my letters have been denied for this reason.  Smiley Sad

Please tell me that others have faced this scenario and were able break through!?

Oh yeah. Don't get discouraged. You can get told no 100 times, and it only takes one "yes" for a removal. You could try escalating up the chain-of-commans - see if you can find an executive email someplace.

Hang in there. Things will get better.

+1 Keep trying.

And look at it this way, the collection is PAID. As in they will never come back to bother you again and you can put it behind you. That in and of itself is relief.

Just be persistant and if you are to the point where frustration clouds what you are trying to achieve, take a break.  Remember, if you are dealing with something that was accurate to begin with, don't expect the company you are dealing with to understand your plea.  BUT, there is always that one person there that could.

Re: Need Some Encouragement!

I too have paid my bills in full. Now, I am GW them! I sent letters for my husband & myself - he gets his deleted, I get a refusal. I just keep trying. I have read many, many forums on here to get email addresses - what am I out to try. About the time you feel like giving up, one of those GW pays off & you start up again!! I have GW some places so. Uh I think they know my address. Today, I just put 2 GW in the mail with some old perfume on them, maybe they'll get sick of me and delete. ;-) don't give up, your credit didn't fall apart overnight & it doesnt improve overnight. It takes time & I know I won't let mine get to this point again!! It's easier to keep it up then to try to rebuild. Good luck!

Re: Need Some Encouragement!

In your next GW politely quote the FCRA sating that you realize that the FCRA requires you to report accurate information IF and WHEN they (the CA) decide to report it but NO WHERE in the FCRA are they REQUIRED to report at all. MAybe when they see that you're not the average ignorant consumer that they deal with day in and day out and that you no what the law actually says they'll realize you mean business and that the only chance of them ever not receiving your GW letters again is if they do the wise and definitely the easiest thing which is go ahead a delete the TL, then they won't ever have to open another one of your letters. I like the perfume idea to, get the worst smelling stuff you can find and drench that GW in it. Eventually they'll get so tired of their office smelling like old lady that they'll give you anything you want just to make the letters stop.

Re: Need Some Encouragement!

I started out the same way. I was very discouraged and kept getting no every phone call and email. I broke through and now I have 2 TL deletions and one 30 day late removal. My score started out on the fako sites way low but has caught up with my 641 FICO EQ on here. All in just over a month. I know it was short but I was on the phone every day and also shooting emails everyday. Now I have 2 more bads and 2 accounts that were lates I am working on.

You'll get there, just be stubborn about it. Smiley Happy Keep sending the letters, and if I remember right some companies tend to be a little better about this around Christmas.
