Re: Need a 3rd Card for Rebuild - Which One?

As far as the QS1 card, I applied based on Credit Karma saying I had very good odds for approval when my credit score was 615. And I was approved instantly.

The auto loan from Capital One......I used the prequal on their website and was approved for up to $35k. I did this right after I was approved for the QS1. Kind of felt like I might be pushing my luck, but so glad I did it. I was able to get out from under a very high apr vehicle. And my prequal made vehicle shopping a breeze. I showed up to the dealer that had the car I wanted, drove it....handed them my prequal.....arranged to finish the deal the next day so my wife could be there.......handed them my down payment and drove off in less than 2 hours with a nice 3 year old car at less than half the apr I was paying. Also got a 3 year 36k mile warranty and 6 premium synthetic oil changes with the vehicle......lumped into the payment and still paying $100/month less than my previous vehicle.

I am very happy with Capital One and very happy with my credit rebuild so far.

Congrats on your rebuilding journey!

I will say, that Cap One is pretty lienient, I recently apped for their Platinum unsecured and was approved for $1000 SL, 5 collections, my scores with all bureaus are 641,636,612, I also had their unsecured for 15 months that I paid on time faithfully.

So if you are itching to try, I'd say go for it, especially if a HP doesn't really concern you at this time.

Good luck!

Quick update everyone...I app’d for the Capital One Platinum last night, unfortunately I was denied. I haven’t received the HP yet so that’s good haha. Either way, I’m in the garden for the rest of the year. Also, woke up to a notification that my score is up to 621 EX so I’ll take that all day. Thanks for everyone’s input and support!!
