I'm so glad i found this great community with so many knowledgable people willing to help. Thank you as i've learned quite a bit lurking here educating myself a few days now.
I have two collections on my Experian report, one of which doesn't seem to make sense to me. It's a medical collection from Aagon with the orinal creditor listed as Obstetrical and Gynecological in an amount of $40. The status says collection acount $40 past due as of Dec 2011 - i'm taking this to mean the date of first delinquency? The problem is i have not been to any OB Gyn since 2008 and i'm not even sure if i had an unpaid bill from this office. My ex handled all the bills up until 2010. The collection agency is AARGON Agency from Las Vegas and i'm in TX. EXP report says this account is scheduled to fall of in Sept 2017. How should i go about trying to get rid of this collection?
My second collection is from Enhanced Recovery corp. for $40 ATT bill. Status on this says Collection acount $41 past due as of OCt 2014. The last time i had such a small bill from ATT was for DSL connection back in 2012. This may be legit because i remember this DSL service was not on autopay back then (now all my recurring monthly bills are on autopay). This is due to drop off from Experian in May 2017. I searched this forum and the latest thread from Dec 2015 i found about Enhanced Rcovery is that they no longer have a reporting department? And a few people were able to dispute it with the 3 CRAs and were removed. Is this the route i should go about with this particular collection agency?
Any advice would be greatly apppreciated. My scores are: Experian 629, TU 649, can't get EQ - i kept failing the 4 security questions on the annualcredit site. Would like to get a bump in scores to apply for a some credit cards and an auto loan.

Don't overlook the Rebuilding subforum. It is intended for topics such as this.

If you're getting scores from the CRA's they may or may not be FICO's. Always consider the specific model when referencing scores and don't assume all scoring models to be equivalent. Even without the scores you'll want to work on addressing the derogs before applying for new credit. Call EQ to sort out the security question issue.
Will a MOD be so kind as to move this to the Rebuilding Subforum? Or should i start another thread in there?
These are Fico scores, sorry was not clear. Yes, that is the intent of this thread, to get direction for how to go proceed with these derogs. Thanks for your response.
Concerning the medical collection google the HIPAA Letter Process follow it exactly as laid out. If you have any problems finding the website or have questions PM me.

No, that is not the DoFD. That is most likely the date it was last reported by the CA. If EX says its due to drop Sept 2017, then the DoFD could be as far back as Apr 2009.
