5. Bank of America
Date of 1st delinquency 8/2007
Paid off, closed, but listed as a negative
Should I ask them to take it off early, since it's due to come off in 2 months?
6. Mercantile Adjustment Bureau
for Wegmans (a bounced check, I could swear I paid this with a money order, but I can't find any proof I did it)
$172 from 9/2012
7. Midland Credit Mgmt for GE Money Bank
$1232 (original balance $1500)
Due to stay on until 1/2016----can't find details of first delinquency etc, but I purchased my washer in 2006 and then lost my job and couldn't pay, so delinquency would have been 2006 or 2007. It was a Lowe's credit card. I was originally called by a law firm in late 2011 and they couldn't even tell me what card it was for. I was told "some store, I think." So, I figured it out by process of elmination. I expressed my willingness to pay but I wanted verification and an accounting. They sent me one statement and filed papers in court, which they never followed through on, probably because it was out of the SOL. I paid $800 and demanded a new statement--nothing was forthcoming, so I stopped paying. I tried three times to get any response from them at all--sent letters to the lawyer multiple times. No response at all. So, I guess they've transferred it to MCM now and I don't know what to do. There should only be $700 total left.
Can/should I try to get information from the OC? This is a "fun" one.
Thanks so much for any and all suggestions. You guys are the best.

You could ask the CRAs reporting (do not dispute, just ask) for an early exclusion. IT's not guaranteed, but you may get it deleted fro your report a little early. Since it's paid, that's really all you can do other than wait lol. You could send a GW letter to have it deleted too, but I'd just ask the CRA for an early exclusion.

Keep looking for your proof. You could aslo try sending a DV letter to them. They should have record of your money order if they received it, I'm assuming. If it's been paid they might update it to paid (which could ding your score a little since they updated the entry recently) and you could send GW letters, or they could possibly even delete entirely, since they are not looking for money at that point. If neither you nor them have proof of payment, I would suggest a PFD and get it in writing before you agree or send payment.

DOFD in 2006 would make this outside the CRTP, and you could dispute with the CRA to remove it based on that fact. Negative entries cannot remain on your report for more than 7.5 years from the DOFD. If it was in 2006, it should have been removed by last year. If it's 2007, it should fall off sometime this year. If the CRAs won't remove it, try and find the actual DOFD on this, as well as any proof of the $800 you paid. You could send them a DV asking for an itemized bill with payments. If you find a receipt for the payment you made and they validated that you owe the full amount, you could have them on some violation(s), depending ont eh situation. I'm not entirely sure WHAT or who you could file teh complaints with, but that's one route.

Again, those are my suggestions. Not a law guru, but I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you so much once again.
For #7, I've got proof of the payments--check numbers and dates, so I could get copies from my bank. I'm going to ask the CB's to delete, but in the meantime, should I try sending a letter to GE Money Bank to see if they can pull up their records on the account? Maybe a letter from them one way or another would help, at the very least to clarify.
If GE Money Bank sold the debt to the CA, they might not have any records as you don't owe them anymore. If the CA was just hired, they'll have it, or at least they should, and they will have to at least update the balance. Get a copy of that check if you can first so you can send that in with any dispute should you need it.

Still waiting for the completed investigations from the CRAs.
Wrote to GE Money Bank and they just got back to me. They sent some statements going back to March 2009. The earliest one shows a late fee and no payment, but it's not clear exactly when the DOFD was but obviously earlier than 3/09. So, based on this, they are telling me that it's reporting correctly. They suggested i contact Encore Capital who apparently purchased it in August 2009. I have never been contacted by Encore Capital. Midland is the only one I've been in contact with and originally I was mailing payments to a lawyer's office who I assume was representing Midland. I've got proof of the payments made to them. Should I contact Midland now?
