Needs Help with Credit Collection

Within a month I am able to get 3 secured cards (CapitalOne, Discover and WellsFargo (pre-approved secured-card).  A month ago I did not even have a checking account, still do not have a FICO 8 score reporting (because do not have an open account which is reporting).  I have spent hours reading the board and figured few things out and able to get 3 cards.  Thanks to all of those who are contributing and helping others.

Now I have couple of questions about removing some baddies.

1.  I have a collection account (emergency ambulence service) of $1,122.00  Midland Funding
- Experian shows last updated 02/01/2012

- Time since negative: 4.2 years
- Account Status shows: Closed

* TU and EQ have recently updated the status on this past week.

2. Credi One Bank NA

Amount : $425.00

Account Status: Closed
Payment Status: Late
Payment Status Details (Charge-off)

Status Update: 05/01/2012

Company Sold-To: Sold to Another Vendor

Here are my questions:

1. What is the best way of tackle these 2.?  Do you guys think I can talk to Middland Funding and if I pay in full would they remove this?  What kind of experience you

have.? Also I am living in Texas so not sure if SOL has anything to do with this? or how that apply in this case

2. Credit One Bank.  should I contact them or just sit on it and wait to go away on it own.

3. Last question how much this would impact my score if these 2 are gone.

thanks

If Credit One has sold the debt, you can no longer pay them.  They are through except for a mandatory update of their prior reporting to now show $0 balance.

The new owner can report a collection at any time.  If you know whp they are, you can contact them prior to their reporting and make a pay for not reporting offer.

Re: Needs Help with Credit Collection

As far as the first one goes, I haven't seen many people having any luck negotiating a PFD with Midland using conventional methods. If you search the boards, there are a few people who have had Midland debts removed - maybe you can try to ask around. Good luck!
