New rules for public records question

Under the new rules for Public Records that went into effect on July 1st in order for a CRA to report a PR they must include the consumer's name, addrees, and either date of birth (DOB) or social security number (SSN).

Does anyone know how the CRAs will do this verification and if the PR has to have to have the consumer's full SSN to be considered valid?

I was looking thru my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy from 2010 on the PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) system last night and saw that none of the court documents or filings contain my DOB and for an SSN they only have the last 4 of my SSN.

Not trying to fool myself into thinking I'll be lucky and have my Ch 7dropped from my credit reports, but it got me thinking as to what method the CRAs will use to verify PRs and that there could be a significant number of people with older PRs like myself that don't contain a DOB or full SSN.

Also from everything I have read the CRAs are being required to review existing PRs, without the need for a consumer to request a review, and not just new PRs from after 1 July. Is this correct?

I'm sure over the next few weeks as the CRAs implement the new rules there'll be plenty of discussions and questions on this topic Smiley Wink

Re: New rules for public records question

I'd love to know this too.  I keep watching my reports like a hawk, waiting for updates to see if my paid tax liens are going to come off automatically.  C'mon, July!

I'm wondering if the requirement for name and address, and DOB or SSN, apply to the credit report as a whole or to the specific entry for civil judgment?

My own civil judgment from 2011 was processed in a county district court. I just looked the case up on their system (it's a county case, not a federal one, and so not accessible through PACER), and found no address, SSN or DOB in the record for the case, so maybe???

I don't have my most recent Equifax report, but I've checked Experian and TransUnion and they both list the 2011 judgment with the same information.

Question. When trying to authorize this. Could the courts update the info given to them by you and say wait 7 more years? Or dispute with letter
