I have to say first off that you guys have been a tremendous help and provided a substantial amount of information/insight.
I am currently working on rebuilding my credit. I have the following negative items on my credit reports. Most of these negative accounts were as a result of me being a medical student not having any money or the knowledge to make appropriate financial choices. I NEED YOUR ADVICE. PLEASE READ DOWN TO C
Amex - Charge Off Nov 2009
Two Capital One Charge Offs
Credit One Bank - Reported as Closed. Written off
First Premier Bank Charge Off
1 Collection
Midland Funding - Account paid in full for less than full balance.
A)I currently have two Capital One Cards (Platinum $750, Quicksilver $500 - both increased via credit steps program). I have been paying these off each month since Sept 2014. I also got preapproved for $250 for the JCREW store card via the shopping cart trick. I shop their pretty often so that was my rationale.
I also applied for two barclay rewards card recently and got declined even after recon - they stated they wanted to see my with a bit more history with my current credit cards before approval.
B) I have sent off multiple GW letters in hopes of getting the charge off's removed. If that wasn't an option I also suggested an alternative of removing the reports of late payments on the account. So far I have only gotten a response from Credit One saying
This office has received your request and is currently reviewing. We will provide you with a written response. We are unable to do so via email at this time.

C) MIDLAND DISPUTE - HELP - ADVICE APPRECIATED
I have read through the forum and as a result have requested my credit report from all three CRA.
I noticed that in the Collection letter sent by Midland it stated that my Current Balance was $1124.85
However, in my credit reports Credit One Bank states that my High Balance was $817.
Also, in my credit reports Midland is reporting my Credit Limit/Original Amount as $818.
Is this enough to request that this collection be removed from my credit report, even if the amount reported is off by $1? Does the fact that a different balance is reported on the correspondence I recived from them prior to settling the collection is also off (1124.85)?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the party. As far is your account with Midland, it's most likely fees and interest added to the original balance which is legal.
The primary goal of the FCRA dispute process is to correct inanncuracies, not compel deletion of correctible information.
It is not a violation of the FCRA to have reported inaccurate information. To err is human.
It is a violation to report information with knowledge of its inaccuracy. FCRA 623(a)(1).
The furnisher has three options in any dispute. First, to verify the information as accurate as reported, and second, to correct any inaccuracy.
The requimrent to delete disputed information only comes into play if they cannot do eitehr one or two.
No, the reporting of inaccurate information will not compel deletion if the furnisher corrects so as to overcome the inaccuracy.
The $1 difference is not an error, it is simply the result of rounding. The reports only show whole dollars, and in one instance the cents were just left off, in the other it was rounded up to the next whole dollar. Neither is an error.
UPDATE -
I just got an email back from Credit One Bank stating to call them in regards to my goodwill letter.
I called the number and the lady informed me that they WILL REMOVE THE CREDIT ONE CHARGE OFF FROM MY CREDIT REPORT!
I am ecstatic! Thank you guys so much for your help and guidance.

Nice.. Keep it up.
Again thank you guys for your continued advice and the wealth of information you provide.
Since my last post. I was able to have my First Premier charge off account removed. I initially did two good will letters with no result.
After reading the forum and looking at my credit report I became aware of multiple inaccuracies across the reports. I sent First Premier an e-mail that i drafted based upon the templates I found her and also put in a complaint with the BBB.
and BOOM!
Account deleted.
I decided to also go after Midland the same route but have yet to hear back from them.
I had a very small bump in my scores since I had the account removed.
My current scores
EX612, TU606, EQ622
I got a southwest rewards card mailer in the mail and decided to apply. I read this site for about 2 weeks. I figured even though my scores are on the low side I could give it a go and BAM! today approved for $2500. MY HIGHEST CREDIT LIMIT YET.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Nice job. Keep pressing forward.
