Newbie with questions.

Okay I have read the forums for over two weeks now, I finally decided to ask for further help.

Here's the deal. I am sitting at a 641 score, but want to try and improve to mid - high 700's by the end of this year. Below are the negative items on my report and the things in good standings.  What do I need to fo to omprove my score, if there is anything at all I can do.  How can I get those Baddies gone?

Total accounts- 13 (5 Open, 8 Closed)  Student Loan, Auto Loan, Mortgage, Capital One CC(15% utiliazation), Ge Capital(Ivan Smith Furniture)

AAoA - 2 years 3 mos

Credit Inquiries - 8

Now here's my questions about the baddies, is there any way to remove these from my credit or does anyone see any errors that I might have missed that they need to be removed?

Status - Paid, Closed         Type: Collection                                           HSBC - Credit Card      Status - Paid in Settlement

Credit Management - Cable Company                                                  Account closed in Jan 2009 at consumer request(before I knew about the credit game)

Date Opened - 9/2007                                                                              Scheduled to stay on record until NOV 2016

Reported Since 12/2007

Date of Status - 02/2008                                                                           Is there any way to turn this account^^ into a positive? Reopen, pay remaining balance, anything?

Last Reported - 02/2008

Since this was paid, can it be removed?

I didn't even know this was in collection and paid it as soon as I found out.

Could I ask the cable company since I have

another account with them that's never been late

to see if they can remove this old one from my CR?

Nationwide Recovery-Caiptal One CC           Type: Collection

Date Opened - 11/2009                                     Term: One MOnth

Last Reported - 1/2011

Now this is Interesting, I have a open account with Capital One today, never late.

This is how this shows up on my Experian Report: Jan2011 CLS DEC2011 No Data - July2011 No Data

and Collection from June2010- Dec2009.

How can that linger there with  NO Data for months and extend the amount of time this stays on my CR? This was paid as soon as I found out it was owed and on my CR.

Now, one last Fiasco- the Student Loan   Which has changed hands a number of times.

Sallie Mae - Student Loan

Date Opened - 4/2007          Status: Claim filed with Government as of June 2010   90 days past due was Aug 2009

Last Reported - 6/2010        Scheduled to stay on record until May 2016

Now the original Lendor the College-Campus Partners which shows on my report as a good standing account shows this:

Date Opened - 7/1999      Type: Education

Reported Since - 9/1999      Scheduled to remain on record until Oct 2017

Date of Status - 10/2007

Last Reported - 10/2007

And the current Same Loan is being paid through yet another Institutuion

Nelnet Educational   OPen/Never Late

Date Opened - 4/2007            Type: Educational

Reported Since - 8/2011

Last Reported - 12/2013              This is the same as Campus Partners, and Sallie Mae, but all three on my credit. Two in good standings, One bad.

I have two other baddies on my credit, one was a note loan that was written off, can't do anything about that one.

And I have an auto loan on there that had a few late payments made on it. Bt has been paid and Closed.

So my questions are, is there anything that shouldn't be on here in the Student loan sections, and also, should I write to the Cable Company and the old closed Credit cards to see about getting them removed?  Or should I just let time do it's thing and let them ride until time takes them off? What can I do in the meantime to try and increase my scores?

Re: Newbie with questions.

Thanks for the move. I guess what I should ask, now after reading even more. Does anyone have the addresses to send GW letters to Sallie Mae, Credit Management, National Recovery, and HSBC Bank?
