Hi all, this is my first day on my Fico.
I’m currently cleaning up my credit. All of my delinquency’s are from 2011-2012. I sent off my first round of dispute letters June 4th and so far all but 1 delenquincy has been deleted.
I do have an old repo from 2011 on my report still even though the debt was forgiven in January. I need to get it taken off because my husband and I are building using his credit alone. He has both of our vehicles financed under his name due to this repo and now we need me to finance one of the vehicles so his DTO can decrease. We’re still approved for the home loan but the loan officer is saying it would look better if I financed one vehicle.
My FICO Scores range from 574 to 620. Does this seem possible through a credit union?
I’m hoping they’ll continue to go up with all of those delinquencies being removed.
Thanks for any and all help!
You say the repo is from 2011. If the Date of First Delinquency more than is 7 years ago, so January-June 2011 ( in some cases 7 years + 180 days), you can dispute it as being too old to be reported, and that should get it removed from your report.
In fact you don't even have to wait the entire time, you can ask for what's called an "early exclusion." Generally, Transunion will grant an EE 6 months early, Experian will grant an EE 3 months early, and Equifax will grant an EE one month early. Do a search here for "Early Exclusion" to read what others did so you can come up with a game plan.
I can't answer questions on scoring or mortgages, but I hope that bit of information will help a little bit. Good luck!
Do a search for EE early exclusion. You can request from TU six months early and three months on EQ. EX is tougher
