No DoFD or On Report Until for Verizon collection

I was looking at my EX and EQ CR and saw that the Verizon collection on there doesn't have a date of first delinquency or "on report until" date. When am I(or the CR companies) supposed to know when it's supposed to drop off? On EX it says "status updated on 9/2020" from when I accidentally disputed it through CK when it was only supposed to dispute to TU. But no info on delinquency or drop off date.

Did you pull your reports from annual credit report? That is the only place that will spell it out.

TU will list "estimated date of removal"

EX will list "on record until"

EQ will list "date of first delinquency"

Annualcreditreport.com is free -- you can pull once per week through 4/21.  These reports are federally regulated and provide your DOFD/Expected Date of Removal/On Record Until.

Re: No DoFD or On Report Until for Verizon collection

A debt collector is required under FCRA 623(a)(5) to obtain the DOFD from the creditor, and explicitly provide, in a separate reporting to the CRA, the DOFD on the original creditor's account.  That reporting must be made no later than 90 days after the debt collector reports their collection to the CRA.

Thus, it must be of record in the consumer's credit file.  However, most commercial credit reports choose not to provide that information in credit reports they sell.  Some will provide the ultimate expected exclusion date that is obtained by calculation from the reported DOFD, which is usually 7 years after the reported DOFD.  There is no requirment under the FCRA or other regulation that credit reports must provide the reported DOFD.

You can usually, as stated by others, get the actual reported DOFD from a report obtained via annualcreditreport.com.

Otherwise, informal attempts can be made either by calling the CRA or the debt collector or original creditor.

I pulled EX and EQ through annual credit report. On EX this is what comes up:

I can't pull up EQ anymore since I just looked at it. I just pulled up the EQ report I saved from August and see the date of first Delinquency clearly listed:

but the format/design of the EQ report from today was different and I couldn't find it despite looking. I can't pull that one up either anymore. I can check again next week, maybe they hid that info in a weird spot separate from all the other acct information.

DoFD for EQ is 3/2016. That would make date it ages off 2/2023, with luck, they often drop a month prior to that (no guarantee), so it could be as earpy as 1/2023. Only 2 years left!

What does the payment history list for EX? What date does it show you were first late and how severe of a late?

I have a few accounts that do not list an "on record until" date, either, on EX.

Also, when you open a dispute even with only 1 bureau, that will likely lead to all 3 bureaus being updated.

@Anonymous  I can't check EX again, but it didn't have any late payment info on it, just showed that the account "updated" in Sep due to the dispute. the rest of months were blank "no info" boxes.

I would hit print next time you pull the report and you can save it from there so you can easily reference to it later. It is good to hang onto them for comparison down the road.
