Not sure about others but I just disputed the account that I was not liable for this account and they removed it.

Yep...that's how you get the AU off your reports.....

Remember the vendor doesn't have a relationship with you regarding this account, they are simply hitting DITTO

with regards to their actual client's account as a FAVOR, so there is no such thing as 'please, don't report "me" on the account'

they report accurate info on the accounts they hold, period....as a favor to their card holder they ditto the AU...again up until the account holder

request, them to stop.

Next thing as long as the AU account info is POSITIVE....it may help to just leave it alone, although no new updated reporting will again,

the JUICE of having the account among your accounts as part of your 'history' ADDS to your profile.....so unless there is a reason for the account info

to be seen as negative ( late payment/high debt ratio etc...) you'd probably do best to just let it hang on your report til it falls off.

I had a 'ghost' Cap-1 account on my report for quite some time ...it help with my credit age AND b/c it never updated the CL (of course with no usage)

gave me a better looking debt/credit ratio.....then one day it was gone from one of my reports, like the ghost that it was...point being I could have disputed it off earlier but it was a positive so I let it ride...if the AU is all positive, let it ride......Smiley Tongue

I am an AU on a gold AMEX charge card...I hate seeing the 5-10k monthly debt on my report. I am considering removing myself too.

Why did you ? If I dont dispute it will the balance go away cause it won't report ? The unknowns are killng me !
