I am learning so much just reading and applying knowledge, but now I need specific advice. I had 3 medical collections removed that reported in Aug 22 (unknown from 2 yrs ago) boosting scores. I have since paid a $27 BOA closed card charge off (fee) and settled a $1900 Discover card debt from 2016 for $386. My current utilization is 109%, waiting on NOV 15 for discover to report paid settlement (I called and they will place a non cycle report on that date). Here is where I need some opinions:
My file is thin. My fico scores are 585/645/635. They have not all updated with the payoffs and removals. They were all old. I want to add some accounts to beef up my types. I have received pre-approval for several cc. It seems I am on borderline for offers, they come daily, some better than others. I did get a AMEX from Credit One with no AF and 2500 CL. I would like to purchase a furniture (plan is to charge, pay large chunk off), should I-
A- Apply for cc now. Lower scores higher interest. This would increase total CL, therefore decreasing my utilization.
B-wait for scores increases I know are coming in Nov/Dec to avail of better card offers.
C- Store credit This seems like a no, as a fixed limit would defeat the point of open available credit.
Thanks in advance, and suggestions on some SP mid score cards would be great! Yall are awesome!!
B
with your Util reporting over 100% and your scores, you are not in a good position to get a card right now
let all the baddies drop and your Report updates
then post back here again with your new scores - your new Util % and a list of your Inquiries on your report
then people can help make a suggestion on which CC to go for

Wait for your report to reflect all of the changes you can make to better your profile.
How close is discover to falling off? It should be relatively soon, no? When will the BoA fall off? Was that DoFD 2016 as well?
Thanks. I have 4 total inquiries HP that are due to fall off Nov and Dec. Waiting is the hard part lol. I appreciate the help. Did I post in correct forum?
good news about the Inq dropping off soon
based on that extra info, plan on at least Jan/Feb for apping for a card
this will mean your baddies will be gone - and you wont have any Inq
though Waiting is painful, it really is the answer to further your Credit Journey
yes - this is the correct forum for this question
Yes, the date of Delinquency for both BoA and Discover are 30 days April 2016. When and how can I ask for EE maybe? I would love to get those off. I also have a previous mortgage lender that should come off with some too. How do I calculate the date exactly?

Welcome @Fixin_to
The date of the DoFD is the month/year of the first (30) late that led to the CO status. Yes you can ask for EE. TransUnion will remove items 6 months early. Experian will 3 months early. Equifax will 1-2 months early. But leave EQ alone and let them do it on their own. Yes hold out longer until these things are gone. Make sure you dont get a consumer finance loan with furniture. FICO doesnt like them.
Thanks. I hope I did not already mess up with a prequal SP Ashley Furniture Synchrony 0% for 60 months 😒. I was offered credit, but did not proceed. I was not aware FICO does not like. Also, when you apply for EE, it is with the CRA, not the creditor? So if I want to exclude late payments on a closed account that has not been reported since 2018, I would try with CRA- via mail, letter, call.... I can search forum for a template if I can get a direction to follow. I prefer calling, but like written proof. Thank yall so much
Eta- Do I request separate or in one letter to address all?
For EE you call and ask. If the CSR doesnt get you anywhere. Ask for a supervisor. To get lates removed. Time for GW letters to the OC. I dont believe Sync will place the account as a CFL. You can call and ask.
