@Anonymous wrote:Hi all. In the continuing process of building my credit score to the '700 club', I have decided to settle my remaining balances from 2006. In actuality it is one balance, from CVF Consumer Acquisitions. I disputed the account with both Experian and Equifax, both of which returned the accounts as verified. Seeing as how I do owe these people (actually a BoA account from 2006) money, I am more than happy to pay them. The question I had, although belated, was sending a PFD to CVF the right way to go? I am hoping they will work with me as I really did not know I owed the money because since joining the Corps in '06, I had not contact from BoA and CVF.
Well, I went ahead and sent one anyways
(registered mail). Hopefully we can get this taken care of. I'll keep everyone posted (PUN definitely intended

I was denied a loan because of some late payments reported on my credit report. What kind of letter can I send to have those negative reports removed?

Send a GW letter
Common Abbreviations
Credit Scoring 101 - great for knowing what is in your credit score and to see how your score is impacted.
What Steps Do I Take - great for learning the repair process.
and Example letters - PFDs, GWs, DVs, etc.
To a new thread within Rebuilding Your Credit with a new title of "Will a PFD work for this?"
Nice thread
Regarding this letter, do you need to include:
my social security number
my signature
my phone number
In other words, what should you NOT include in a PFD letter.
?
Thanks
I would include the account# and last four of your SS# for sure.. DO NOT incude a signature.
"...DO NOT include a signature."
Why not?
