PFD Letter & OC question

I know that if I send the pfd and the ca accepts, they will delete it from the cra. But my question is what do you do about the charge off from the OC? How do you get that removed or does it stay there or do I try to GW the OC after I pfd the CA and they delete. The CA is Credit Solutions Corp and the OC is Continental Finance MC/First Bank of Delaware. Thanks for your response in advance.

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

Does the OC show a balance due? If at $0, then they sold the account to the CA. Your only option is with a GW. Ask them to remove any lates and to change any comment to "paid as agreed". However, take what you can get too. Any removal of lates can go a long way to improving your score.

Make sure you DV before offering a PFD, even if you know it is yours.

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

Yes the balance is at $0. So they sold it to the CA. What would be a fair amount that you think would be acceptable for the CA to do the PFD? The original CL was $300 but it is CO for $558 and $558 is what the CA has listed.

I'm one to offer 100%, only because I have been burned in the past. Though I am sure you could get away with less.

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

Most OCs will not delete!!  The Ca owns the account so they might accept a PFD.

You should always send a DV  CMRRR before thinking about a PFD!!!

What is the DOFD and are you past SOL. It is easier to get them to accept a PFD after you are past SOL.

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

I have sent a DV before and I did not get a response. I did not send it CMRRR though. Should I send it again and send it CMRRR and if they don't respond, give that info to the CRA's?

Yes   send it CMRRR  and if they don't answer   you can then send everything to the CRAs

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

Ok, I've dv'ed again and no response and I sent everything to the CRA's and they still verified and didn't change anything. What do I do next, try the PFD or send another forceful DV? Thanks for your help.

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

File complaints with the BBB, your AG, their AG, and the FTC.

File them all at the same time, that way they get hit from both AG and the BBB at the same time.

Re: PFD Letter & OC question

Do I file complaints against the CRA's or the CA?
