PFD Questions

I recently was able to get 5 collection accounts deleted from my TU credit report by dispute.  I also disputed these on the other reports but they came back as verified or whatever it is where they don't delete them.  I don't understand why they didn't verify with TU but I digress.  Now the question I have is as follows:

The agency that was reporting these collections had a total of 6 listed on each report.  Now if I request a PFD on the one remaining on TU and then the 6 that are listed with EQ/EX...is there a chance I could see those 5 that were deleted off of TU reappear?

I hope that question made sense.  How can I go about trying a PFD without having that fear of them popping back up?  Do I need to be specific in the pfd letter...saying something to the effect of..."please remove or I am requesting a deletion off of x report"  so as not to affect the TU one?  I am a bit confused and any help is appreciated.

Re: PFD Questions

If the accounts are the same as the ones you already got deleted from TU and you get a PFD in writing it should include all 3 CRA's. I doubt it would make them pop back on TU.

But what if they do not agree to pfd....could me requesting it and basically acknowledging the debt cause it to come back.

I hope I am making sense with my questions LoL

Re: PFD Questions

If the accounts were removed for non-verification by the creditor, yes, they can come back.  If the creditor verifies the debt anytime after the deletion and the CRAs certifies the debt to be a valid debt, it can be readded.  This would include anyone, creditor, new CA etc trying to add the TL to your CR.

The CRA then has 5 days to notify you of the reinsertion.

You can offer a PFD without acknowledging the debt.  Just say you neither dispute nor acknowledge the debt but in the spirit of compromise you are willing to pay said amount of money for their deletion.

Thank you for the responses.

Do you happen to have a good example or template so to speak for a pfd letter?  I searched here and didn't really see a decent one...I saw a lot of specific ones LoL.

Also, if I do what you stated, do I state "xx amount of money for deletion on xx report"?

Thanks again!!

Re: PFD Questions

You've essentially got it.

A PFD is a form of GW letter. You're asking them to do you a favor.

Take a look at stickied thread in this forum for other PFDs.

But try to personalize it a bit. Use a friendly tone.

Explicitly state "I am willing to pay $X in return for your agreement to delete this debt from any and all credit reporting agencies."

Re: PFD Questions

Jarnog,

Here is the link to the PFD stickied thread on this forum.  I've had really good results with a couple of the templates that they use in there.

Good luck!

What I am afraid of is that if I write them and ask nicely and all that, and use your line (or a facsimile), that they will think to themselves or say "hey why didn't we verify this with TU, well lets "fix" this mess up".  Then all of the sudden I see those 5 deleted reappear.  Or, lets say they don't agree to the PFD, then my reports update or they update and all of the sudden those 5 reappear.  I am sorry if I am repeating myself, but I just want to be clear as to how to move forward with this.  I want to make sure I get it right Smiley Happy

I also understand that no debt is truely gone if it hasn't been paid, it can always be "found", but I am not in the market for a home any time soon.
