PFD Success! RJM Acquisitions

I mailed them a pfd letter offering them 50% for deletion and they responded within a week saying they are pleased to accept that offer and will consider it satisfied in full and the account will be deleted from experian and tu , which is all they reported to.

Also I had sent a pfd letter to national recovery and they wrote back saying 'the account is closed and will be removed from all credit agencies within 30 days'  I look today and its gone even though I didnt pay it,  weird

Re: PFD Success! RJM Acquisitions

Today, 6/8, I received a response to a PFD letter (found on here and modified slightly) that I sent to RJM on 5/29, original balance $910.00 (joint bank acct with ex).  I offered them the same amount that they offered to settle with us on "report as settled/paid" over 3 months ago.

In it says they are "pleased to accept the sum of $410.00 in full satisfaction of the above referenced account."  Then it says "Upon receipt and clearance of $410.00, this account will be satisifed in full, and RJM will update our reporting of this account with Trans-Union and Experian to paid with a zero balance."

This is obviously not what I want.  I want a PFD.  So do I counter with a new PFD letter with a higher dollar amount or should I go ahead and call them and say "will you take this same larger amount in order to agree to a complete deletion?"

Re: PFD Success! RJM Acquisitions

Ok, will do.  I don't want to offer a whole lot more, I guess I don't want them thinking that I have 6 months to go back and forth until I end up paying the whole amount, when I could have just offered that up front.  So is there a "magic" percentage I should offer?  I am going to offer $600 (up from $410) for the PFD and hope this works!

That's always a personal preference. I perfer to offer 100%, only if I owed it. IMO, I'd rather have a clean report than to save money.

I suggested a higher amount because RJM is one of the better CAs (oxymoron) because they accept PFDs. It is uncommon that they'd reject a request, but I surmised it is because the settlement amount offered is too low.

Re: PFD Success! RJM Acquisitions

I've gotten RJM to do a PFD for a lot lower amount/percentage of the debt.  They're very PFD friendly, I would just contact them again and let them know that you want it deleted.  I'll PM you an email address.

Re: PFD Success! RJM Acquisitions

 Hello JoeBJay20,

I also have an account with RJM that I would like to PFD.  Could you send me the contact information that you used?  I would really appreciate that.  Thanks in advance!

Re: PFD Success! RJM Acquisitions

RMJ just sent me a confirmation that they were removing my debt.  They kindly agreed to the PFD i sent for half of the debt owed.  I sent and they confirmed.
