PFD for a red light enforce ticket????

I've had  a clean report for 2 years now and I just received a collection on my credit report for a red light ticket.  I called the police department and they said it will remain on my credit report to 7 years for $40.00.  Should I try to send a PFD before paying?  they wont let me renew my tags either until paid.  Please help....my goal is to get a house in January.

I cant believe the way the ecomony is the county is allowing this to happen.  Don't they want people to be able to buy houses again????

Why didn't you simply pay the ticket?  Seems to me not being able to renew a registration is the more immediate concern here.  I would think there is no incentive for them to accept a PFD when the hammer they hold is the block on your registration and/or license.

Under these circumstances, I  would just pay it.

You can contest the ticket.  I would contact the court house or who ever deals with them and tell them you never received anything in the mail.
