So I messed up, is there any hope ? I just sent a letter req that Cap One who bought out Onyx  delete from CRAs the CO's along with letter I sent a MO paying full amount Smiley SadI thinking now I should have requested DV first ...  it was for such a small amount ($76) I just wanted it off my Credit Report, seems crappy, paid fine for the length of loan waited for what the final payment would be never received anything till it showed up on our credit report ... Hopefully it's not to late what should I do next or will I just have to grin and bear it

You can't DV an OC, only a CA.

They don't have to delete. A PFD is a letter requesting a kind gesture, but they don't have to reply or comply.

I'd wait about 2 months after you mailed the payment and dispute if and only if CapOne/Onyx is reporting anything other than $0. If they are reporting $0, then all you can do is send GW letters (very long shot with CapOne).

Statute of Limitations, or the point at which you can or can't be sued. Varies by state.

Re: PFD letter ignored

Thanks! Approximately how long is it, for example in California? How would one find out? Also, is it just about being sued? How about being collected?

I don't have the link handy, but if you were to search "SOL" and look for a URL link, you'd find one. Posted many a time in here.

You can be sued outside of SOL, but you will have a SOL defense and you'd win in court. Just answer any summons.

They can engage in collection activity forever. No time limit. Reporting, though, is only 7 yrs.
