PIF except 1 card, under 5%..help

Maybe someone has a little trick but this seems so complicated and time consuming and you guys make it seem like it's absolutely nothing.

How do you manage which cards need to be paid at what time if you're paying before your due date to get it to report 0 on credit report?

If you have a lot of credit cards it seems like it's a job just to remember the dates and pay on one has date allowing time to process payment and everything.

Auto pay doesn't help cause it usually pays only on due date.

Re: PIF except 1 card, under 5%..help

I think first you would have to know the statement cut date on them.  Also, if you are using multiples at one time...pay off one before the statement...or enough on both that would only be reporing 9% at statement cut. Personally, If i use a store card one month and I don't use another  one. If use one at a time. But if i do use like an express and use my Visa....I will pay the express off two weeks after and then let my merrick bank card report a bal.

I hope that made some sense?

Re: PIF except 1 card, under 5%..help

It's not that tough for me.  I only have four card.  I use one as my primary card and use the others once every month or two.  I treat these like debit cards - I buy a tank of gas, go home, go online, and pay the card.

You can check your accounts online every day or so - helps cut down on fraud.  Looking at old statements online will help you see when the cut date is.  My method only requires me to keep one date in mind, and only when I am trying to optimize my score for some reason.  Otherwise I just pay the cards in full as I use them.

Some people have spreadsheets, but why go to that much work?  And the only time you need to carry a small balance is when you are optimizing your score because you are going to app for something, and only then if you are borderline.

Starting Score: TU 672 EQ 654 10/20/09
Current Score: TU 775 EQ 783 EX 799 (PLUS)
AMEX Delta Platinum $35K, NFCU Visa Signature $30K, HHonors Reserve Visa $35K, WF $13.5K, IHG Rewards Club MC $25K

I like like that. Pay it after every use. I have a bank of America debit card that is connected to my credit card with them so it's simple to just transfer money after each time.

It indeed is time consuming if you try to do this constantly Smiley Happy..I do it just before a new app ..so every 6 months. Right now I have 7 accounts with a balance reported and my score tanked but so what..I do not app and like this who cares? You can stress yourself Smiley Sad
