Paid Collection Accounts Removed from Only 1 or 2 CRA's?

Over the last two months, I''ve been working on removing some paid collection accounts from my credit reports.

I have paid two HSBC accounts, Discover, and a very small paid phone bill.

Each account has been removed by at least one CRA, but not all three.

HSBC 1 ($4k) -Removed from Transunion, still reporting on Equifax, Experian

HSBC 2 ($700)  - Removed from Equifax, still on TU, EX

Discover -Removed from EQ, still on TU, EX

Phone Bill -Removed from EQ, TU.  Still on Experian

What's the next step with these?  Should I verify with original creditor?   Or can I play one CRA off another?

Experian is impossible,  the others seem easier to work with.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Re: Paid Collection Accounts Removed from Only 1 or 2 CRA's?

I am a little confused.

Paying a CA never, in and of itself, requires the CA to delete it from your CR.

If they are now all paid, your debt has been satisfied, so I see nothing to contact the OC about, or any way to "play" one CA against another.

Exactly what is your thinking on this?  I dont see it.  The CA has your money now, and will probably just ignore you.

CRAs only drop paid CAs from your CR under one of two conditions.  First when the CA instructs them to delete (due to a PFD or GW acceptance by them), or second, when the 7 1/2 period has run from the DOFD on the OC debt.

It looks like GW to the CA is your option now.  And they are never under any obligation to grant any such deletion.  In fact, CRA reporting guidelines specifically instruct CAs not to delete a CA account based on its payment, so they are well within their administrative obligations with the CRA to either ignore or refuse any GW letter now.  So I wouldnt confront the CA in a manner that makes them less likely to grant you a GW exception of their normal, and legal, practice.

Re: Paid Collection Accounts Removed from Only 1 or 2 CRA's?

These were paid collections that I wasn't smart enough to do a PFD when I paid them off 3 years ago.  I recently disputed payment history, which was reported incorrectly. With the above accounts,  one disappered at two CRA's and came back "verified" at a third.

How does this make any sense?   (I do understand the CRA's verficiation process.)

For example, if Discover is deleted off my EQ, isn't it Discover's responsbilitity to notify the other CRA's?  Failing that, could I use my EQ report where Discover was removed to get Discover removed from the 2 other CRA's?

So far Experian has proven to be the worst, both with disputes and customer service.    They're currently reporting 6 months of late payments after a charge off.

Thanks!
