Paper Reports

Hello all!

I know that having your actual paper reports in hand is crucial to looking over and starting the rebuild journey. I'm also aware that free annual credit report is available, however one of my reports has part of the PDF cut off, and it's not displaying the entire dates for a lot of entries. Is the best way to get these paper reports still to call in CSR for each CRA and pay for a paper reports to be emailed to me?

Thanks in advance!

You can get weekly free reports from each bureau.  These are full reports, including all hard and soft pulls.

You certainly can print out these PDF downloads onto paper, but I wouldn't recommend it, since they're fairly long reports.  I would just view the PDF files on your computer screen.

Re: Paper Reports

Thanks for the reply, but as mentioned, my last 2 pdf reports has information cut off, and can't be read. I also know that in the past the paper reports mailed to me directly from each CRA had a lot more information versus the annual free credit report pdf's did. Does annual free credit report have the option to mail the complete hard copy profile?

It works fine for everyone else, so you're experiencing a local technical issue on your device.  I would try solving your technical issues before resorting snail mail reports, but that's just me.  Good luck.

You won't get any additional information from snail mail reports; reports from https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ are complete.

This paper reports question interests me as well. I had an unrequested paper report mailed to me once due to a dispute; and I saw the same increased detail over the annual free credit report version.

Edit: It may have been the same information, but in a more legible format. Not sure as it was misplaced for me in circle filing cabinet and didn't get a chance to visually compare.

Re: Paper Reports

Yes. Same for me. I remember looking over reports a few years ago from free annual credit report, and I got back a full paper report directly from the CRA from a dispute I did, and it had details about every one of the trade lines on there, first date of dilequency, date of last activity, all of that. These PDF's that I just got did not display any of that information, it was all left blank. This is information that is being reported about us, and we have the right to view/ contest any and every detail if needed. Using free annual may be fine for disputing an eroneous trade line altogether, but when getting in to the specifics of correcting/ removing certain entries, and getting dates correct, the hard paper copy directly from the CRA is always what I was told to go by. These reports always had more information

Re: Paper Reports

My reports are a minimum of 78 pages long, so yes, I would hate to have to print a document that lengthy.

Re: Paper Reports

I also received a paper copy of my Experian report after I sent in a wrong address and name error dispute. TU and EQ did not send me one so I guess it is not a mandatory process.
