There is a medical collection on my Experian report in which it's listed to be deleted in August. I understand that may mean by the end of August, but I need to apply for a new loan this month and can't wait for September to have this fall off. I spoke with an agent at Experian and they offered to file a dispute; however, I am wondering if there could be any negative impacts to doing so (i.e. having it stay on longer). Thanks in advance!
If you are applying for a mortgage then you will be denied because of the dispute comment.

The truth about accounts in dispute when applying for a mortgage. Right from the horse's mouth last week (my lender). Lenders don't want accounts in dispute that have a balance. If there is no outstanding balance, then the dispute status doesn't matter. HTH!
Thanks all! I was very suprised last night when I received the results of the dispute just 3.5 hours after filing it! Experian indeed deleted to about-to-expire collection! I'm now very anxious to get my Experian score with all of the baddies gone! Although I do not really want the hard inquiry for the lender pull to get my FICO. Thanks all!!!
