Posting Date Question and Payment in full plus $7.00

Hello everyone,

Todays question! I recently got a First Premier Credit Card. As many of you know they charge 179.00 in various fees when you first receive it leaving only a balance of 71.00. I received my statement today stating that my minimum payment is 25.00 and payment due date is 11/09/2009. That seems okay. I called them and asked what is the current update for the account. The rep that I spoke to (she was kind of rude) told me the posting (update is 11/10/2009. I told her that I wanted to pay in full so the account will have a 0.00 balance. She said that I would still have a  7.00 that would post.

Okay, so the question is can I pay 179.00 plus add the addition payment of 7.00 to the bill. Do they allow this? This would make my next bill 0.00 until the december bill is due.

Thanks so much

Re: Posting Date Question and Payment in full plus $7.00

I can't speak for First Premier but I have an account with a different CCC that has the annual fee spread out over the year in monthly installments of $6. It is my experience that it is impossible to pay them through their online interface and pay over the balance. However I send them checks through my bank's online billpay service (of course they don't accept electronic payment, grumble) and they've never refused the check even though it covers the entire balance plus the $6 fee.

So you might try it that way if you have no luck with a different payment method.

Re: Posting Date Question and Payment in full plus $7.00

If you pay online they charge you $7.00 to make the payment and you can pay the $179.00 plus the $7.00 charge to make the payment. You cannot pay the $7.00 monthly fee until they post it to your account. If you western union it to them you can pay the $7.00 monthly fee as well as the$179.00 and it cost $9.95 to pay by western union thats the only way to have a zero balance through them unless you happen to catch it when they have posted your monthly fee before they report to cras. Every time you make a payment online they charge the $7.00 fee.So, whenever you pay online you have to pay the extra $7.00 so that fee does not report also. The easiest way is to pay it through western union. Hope this helps. Also, if you send a check you can include the $7.00 monthly fee and you will have a zero balance. So, if you pay through western union you would pay $179.00 + $7.00 monthly fee + $9.95 western union fee and you will have a zero balance.

Can't you pay it through your bank's billpay to save on the western union fee and paying through their website fee?  That's what I do with Credit One Bank.
