If you are using a 3rd party repair agency then this is very common and they have the right to reject such disputes. I would dispute inaccurate info yourself via US Mail CMRR and if they still take this stance and you provide them new info as to why you are disputing then a CFPB complaint would be in order.

Let me geuss...You followed the advice of some site/forum that basically said "dispute every derog and most will be removed" - is that about it?

A CRA always retains the right to request proof of identity should they have reason to question the source of a communicaiton.

Just provide them a copy of a government issued ID.

Fair enough. I'm assuming you meant DV... A DV has nothing to do with reporting of a debt. DV is under FDCPA., which regulates debt collection practices.

Do you know the actual DoFD of the debt?

Eh, I'm on the iPad and making these quotes in a post can be a challenge, but anyway. In your first comment you refer to more than one dispute it appears,  and I believe that may be where Normans thought came from, my initial one as well.

have you disputed many items recently, even if they weren't done the same month?

i think most of us can agree that EX can be downright difficult when it comes to this

Re: Problem with Experian

Hi avinger

I recently had the same problem with Experian. I disputed several items CMRR. I included a copy of my SS card and driver's license, so identification wasn't an issue. Problem was I sent one dispute per letter, which triggered the Experian fraud letter. The CSR told me for future reference to send one letter for all the items I want to dispute. She said it's common for credit repair companies to send dispute letters containing only one line item. Experian flags those and it's a good chance they'll kick it.

Hope this helps.
