Hello,
so I have been reading these boards daily (and quite heavily I might add lol), and seem to remember that baddies remain on CR for 7-7.5 years. Does this also apply to medical collections?
I have one collection account which was listed as reason #1 on why my FICO score was low. I was going to send a DV letter to NCO, and then see if I can PFD (if it comes back verified), however when I looked at my EQ report, I see the DOFD is in 6/2005. Does that mean this should fall off this year sometime (I'm not sure when the 7 yrs apply or when the 7.5 apply)? Also, do things usually fall off automatically?
FYI, I live in CA but the debt occurred in GA.
Edited to add that NCO is the CA.

A collection is a collection so the same CRTP applies; no longer than 7.5 years from the DoFD on the OC account.
ETA: If the DoFD of 6/2005 is accurate then this should be gone by the end of 2012. It's usually automatic but always check to make sure.
