Question on duplicate collection items.

Hello, I reviewed my reports and found that the original creditor, SBC California, hired 4 different collection agencies to collect this debt. So the same debt for the same original creditor is showing multiple times from different agencies. Would this be considered a duplicate if I request for removal with the credit reporting agencies?

Re: Question on duplicate collection items.

You can either...

1. Go straight to the CRAs...and dispute all as...NOT MINE...see what gets deleted...send the companies that verify...a DV letter...

or

2. DV all CAs...and see who verifies...hope they respond...and send you deletion letter...saying they can't verify...

Whoever validates...send them a PFD letter...

If you look on your reports, look for a "last reported date" or "reported on date", this should help you in figuring out who the last to have your account was. You could DV the ones who no longer have the account.

Is this account past SOL?

Re: Question on duplicate collection items.

No it isn't. Unless SBC counts as a verbal contract since you set it up over the phone? Then it may be out of SOL shortly or recently out of SOL
