Quick question on reporting

When a lender sends out consumer information to the CRAs, do the CRAs do some sort of verification to corroborate the information before they place it on the CBR?

And do they HAVE TO report? Can they ignore part of the information sent by the lender cause it does not match their records or they could not verify it?

Re: Quick question on reporting

The CRAs report what the creditors send them. They don't do any verifying--that supposedly happens when we dispute inaccurate items.

If a creditor sends in information, then the CRAs report it. They don't have the authority to unilaterally ignore any part of the information.

Re: Quick question on reporting

ByrdMan, Thanks for the reply. I have this CC (Spiegel) which I was approved for recently and also received the card and its been a while.

But its only showing on my EX and TU.

The address on the card app is my brothers address which is also on file only with EX and TU

Hence I was wondering if EQ is not reporting this new A/C on my file because of the address mismatch/not on file etc.
