Hey I just had my Capital one platinum card PC to Quicksilver!! I have had the platinum card that graduated a few months ago and my Security deposit was returned. I called and the rep offered the Quicksilver with no annual fee! I was so excited after I ended the call that I was thinking that maybe she said Quicksilver One, but the card arrived today and it is indeed a Quicksilver. Does this card have credit steps program as well. I dont recall seeing it mentioned in any of the documents that were sent. Also will this change my dates on my credit reports ? Will it show as a closed account or do they somehow merge? Appreciate any information on this. What is the difference between the QS and the QS1?

First of all, congrats!
Second: thank you for sharing your data point on the fact that a secured platinum can PC to a QS after graduation.
Can we get some more data points? What was your FICO08 when you graduated, how many months did you have it when it unsecured, and what was your FICO when you were offered the PC?
Congrats. I thought credit steps was a one time thing, a promised CLI after 5 on time payments. Which you said already happened. It's not a new account, it's a continuation of the account (as you'll note from the same account #), and now you'll earn 1.5% cash back.
I remember reading somewhere the only way to get to the no AF QS is to be upgraded from another card. Not sure if that's true or not, but it's how I got mine.
