RPM receivable performance management, has called twice on Verizon acct

So I need to figure out how to handle this one BEFORE it gets listed on my credit.

I have not received anything in the mail from them, just two recent phone calls (from receivable management) for a verizon account listed on my credit.

Verizon has the balance listed incorrectly on the credit report, I have tried calling and three different agents give me a different balance. ANYWAYS, the balance should be $697 (listed as $850)

SO, I am working on getting a mortgage in the next  couple months so I do not need this collection agency to post anything on my credit.

Should I call them back and see if they are willing to settle and NOT report?

What is the best plan of action to PREVENT this from reporting.

Is it worth putting your mortgage in jeopardy over $153?  Call Verizon and pay them over the phone.

No, not at all, but when I called, I was transfered by Verizon to five hundred people who said they couldn't find my account.... Then I was hung up on. I have emailed executive customer service, and hopefully will hear back, but wasn't sure if I should call receivable performance management back and see if they are offering a settlement. I would love to settle the account so it reflects a 0 balance.

You can call and offer a pay for not reporting.

+1

CA's are usually much more agreable to a pay for NOT reporting, vs a pay for deletion. Saves them money, because reporting (and deleting) cost them money.
