Rebuild Plan - Thoughts?

A majority of my baddies are due to fall off at the end of this year, and I've had good response from the CRA's with requesting an early exclusion for the accounts that are going to be falling off soon.

So I'll list my baddies that don't include the early exclusion route:

Ally Financial - Balance: $734

This was a car loan I co-signed for my exwife, and the car was in my ex-wife's name (we were married at the time obviously). Well, after we seperated, she stopped paying on the car and didn't tell me until they reposed it. This was back in 2017, and fast forward to 2021, they went after me and obtained a judgement againt me and had started garnishing my wages, but that garnishment ended in late 2021, and there still is a balance of $734 left. Scheduled to fall off 1/2024

Not sure what to do about this tradeline. Pay for Deletion? Simple straight up dispute?

Verizon Wireless

I switched services from Verizon to AT&T and was making payments to Verizon to settle my account until they sent the remaining balance to their internal collection and are now reporting a $60 Collection/Chargeoff. Scheduled to fall off 1/2027

Pay for Delete? SOL has passed on this debt.

Colonial Savings

This is my primary mortgage, and during my divorce, I had a string of late payments (38 to be exact Smiley Surprised) but since then, I have been on time for over 2 years now, and this was a direct result of my divorce. The late payments will begin to fall off at the end of this year and continue to fall off until 2025.

Goodwill Letter?

Ally:

What would you dispute? They successfully got a judgment against you and made you pay via garnishment so it is too late to play the "not mine" card (plus cosigning makes you legally obligated for the debt). OC almost never agree to a pay for delete but you can ask.

Verizon:

Try for a PFD but Verizon is known for being a pain to remove.

Colonial:

Goodwill letters are your only option but the odds of them removing 38 lates is not great.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Re: Rebuild Plan - Thoughts?

I would say definitely try and get the verizon collection removed thats your best bet. As for Colonial removing all of those lates is definitely a really long stretch I would only put a small amount of hope into it. Good luck man!

Why is there a balance if there was a court judgement? Should have been done. Unless its trailing interest. Pay that first. Then pay the $60 CO then try GW letters. Nothing to GW yet until its paid. Good Luck!
